Circuit Breakers
A circuit breaker, also known as an automatic fuse, is a crucial component of electrical panels. It protects circuits and users by detecting the flow of electricity and shutting it off when the current exceeds the allowable threshold. Circuit breakers quickly react to overload situations, preventing equipment damage and reducing fire risks. They protect electrical systems from overloads, short circuits, and electric shocks. Once tripped, they are easy to reset by flipping the switch back to the “on” position. At Klinkmann Store, we offer a wide range of high-quality and safe circuit breakers from Chint and Rockwell Automation at competitive prices.
Circuit breakers from Rockwell Automation and Chint deliver excellent performance and ensure a reliable, durable electrical network. Our selection of circuit breakers features fast trip times to prevent equipment damage and potential fires. These breakers are easy to install and designed to fit various installation scenarios. Their versatility makes them suitable for numerous applications, offering a convenient solution for diverse electrical networks.
In our catalog, you’ll find circuit breakers for every need. Whether you’re searching for breakers with ratings of 1A, 2A, 4A, 6A, 10A, 13A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, 63A, 80A, 100A, or 125A, we have you covered. For ratings over 125A, we recommend the Chint NM8N series. Our range includes circuit breakers with the correct number of poles, whether 1-pole, 2-pole, 3-pole, or 4-pole. Circuit breakers protect electrical equipment from damage, prevent electric shocks, and avoid overloading cables and wires. It’s also a good idea to keep extra circuit breakers in stock to ensure the smooth operation of your electrical systems in case of emergencies. Shopping with us is simple and convenient. Trip Curve Types
Circuit breakers are categorized into different trip curves, indicated by letters. The most common models are C-curve and B-curve breakers. These curves define the reaction time of the circuit breaker to short circuits or overloads and specify the fault currents the breaker can handle. Choosing the correct trip curve ensures proper timing and coordination with other protective devices in the circuit when the current exceeds the allowable limit.
B-Curve Circuit Breakers
B-curve breakers are ideal for resistive loads (e.g., electric heating, water heaters, stoves, solar systems, lighting) and define the reaction time to high currents several times greater than the rated current. These breakers handle 3–5 times the nominal current. Due to their lower tripping current, B-curve breakers respond faster to overloads and short circuits than C-curve breakers.
C-Curve Circuit Breakers
C-curve breakers are commonly used to protect circuits with devices that have a relatively low inrush current, such as lighting, outlets, household appliances, and small machinery. These breakers handle 5–10 times the nominal current and react slower to overloads and short circuits compared to B-curve breakers, as their tripping current is higher.
D-Curve Circuit Breakers
D-curve breakers are suitable for circuits with high inrush currents, such as motors. They handle 10–20 times the nominal current. D-curve breakers are more sensitive to tripping than B- and C-curve breakers, making them unsuitable for circuits with low inrush currents.
Choosing the Right Circuit Breaker
The selection of a circuit breaker depends on the specific electrical installation and its requirements. We always recommend consulting a qualified electrician to ensure the correct choice of breaker. For assistance in selecting the right circuit breaker, feel free to contact our customer service team.
We deliver B-curve, C-curve, and D-curve circuit breakers, along with other automatic fuses, directly from our online store with fast and reliable service. Orders over €140 qualify for free shipping, so it’s a good idea to purchase a larger quantity of electrical installation components and other necessary panel equipment at once.
